RE: Deals Gap - Dragon RV camping

There are nice campgrounds at Townsend, just a half hour ride from yhe dragon, have stayed at the Big Medows, & the KOA, both very nice. I ride the dragon every year, & the best days are monday to thursday, any other days it is very crowded. From townsend I can ride through the dragon, turn around & ride back through to townsend in an hour & a half.

Last year they gave me their best price on a Revolution, & I was able to find a new one just 95000 less.

RE: DirecTV, What's the story?

We use direct tv, & I carry a portable dish with me so I can set it up for the second input, but with the east & west coast feed we found that we can watch all the programs we want with one input. They are a pain to talk to but we have managed to get things suspended or turned on as we want. If you have service & they start with the run around just ask for the disconnect people, they will get things set up as you want.

RE: Slowing down

We are shooting ourselves in the foot with oil speculation. Pension funds & big investment are the ones in oil speculation, using our money to dreive up our costs. Oil does need to come off the commodity market, & maybe the oil companies should be controled like the utility companies. You can also take for granted that we do export heating oil & diesel fuel. That helps them cry shortage.

RE: 2008 Fleetwood Revolution LE

With a 5000 toad your weight will only be between 35 & 40 thousand, & the 400ISL will handle it with ease.

RE: Rafter J During Bike Week

I have gone to bike week & enjoyed it, but going 2 weeks before bike week is much more enjoyable, & less expensive.

RE: longest motorhome / trailer combo

If it is registered & used as a commercial unit the states can't impose a length limit.

RE: Class A being towed?

I owned a heavy duty wrecker, & the rate for motorhomes was 150 dollars an hour, 2 hour minimum, & the wrecker cost more than most motorhomes.

RE: horsepower vs. torque- again

The higher the torque & horsepower, the higher the cubic inches. Adding Banks systems & other power devices to smaller engines usually the wear & maintanence, so the only replacement for cubic inches is cubic cash.

RE: Fleetwood MPG

Between 7 & 7.5. Put 35000 miles on my 03 & was always closer to 7, only the wind would push it below 7, & that was towing a 9000# trailer.

RE: Stuck in the dirt, in a Motorhome

Good film of a bunch of jerks. Lucky that no one got hurt or killed. When those straps break they aren't really selective about who they hit. There are actually professional people who do those jobs, & do them safely.

RE: Abnormal tire in (coaches) right rear

I am still trying to figure how one tire rotates 500 times/mile & the one beside it rotated 502 times. I would think the tire was flat or going flat for a very long time, & the force of rotation caused the center to wear. That is a good thing about tubless tires, you can run them flat & they don't overheat, & as long as the bead sticks to the wheel you won't get or feel any wobble. As stated the other tire was overloaded so you should replace both tires.
